“hi.”

I fear for our future generation if dating has succumbed to this level of laziness.

  1. I would offer that the written word is difficult. If this is all a potential suitor has to offer then yes, by all means, dump him by the curb and good riddance to his lacking control of the English language. But I would offer that sometimes it helps to know a little bit about the conversation from the other writer's point of view. And a smile or wink can go a long way in communicating those feeling that sometimes words can not. Of course, I could be wrong. Because I use them 50 times a day.

  2. I use emoticons many times a day too…only they are interspersed within actual words strung together to make real sentences. What you see within the quotes is the entirety of the message(s) received. And I suppose in hindsight, the MOTD should not be #3, but many. Too many to count. Received another one of these gems this just morning… Sad face emoticon.
